On May 30, 2020, the NTR (NARAYAN THAKURUSING RATHOD) Charitabel Foundation Trust established a Free COVID-19 Center in Bijapur to support the community during the peak of the pandemic. This initiative was aimed at providing essential healthcare services and resources to those affected by the virus, particularly in rural areas where medical facilities were limited.
The COVID-19 center was equipped with 150 beds and an ambulance for emergency transportation, ensuring that patients could receive timely care. In addition, the foundation distributed between 2,000 to 2,500 medical kits to individuals and families, helping them manage COVID-19 symptoms at home and reduce the strain on local healthcare facilities.
The initiative also included health awareness and education programs focused on the management and prevention of COVID-19, especially among children and women in rural areas. These programs aimed to educate the community on hygiene practices, the importance of wearing masks, and social distancing to reduce the spread of the virus.
Dr. Manjunath, Founder and Chairman of NTR (NARAYAN THAKURUSING RATHOD) Charitabel Foundation Trust, highlighted the importance of such efforts: “In times of crisis, it is our responsibility to ensure that every individual has access to the care and resources they need to stay safe. This COVID-19 center is a step toward protecting the most vulnerable in our society.”
The NTR (NARAYAN THAKURUSING RATHOD) Charitabel Foundation Trust’s COVID-19 center in Bijapur served as a lifeline for many during the pandemic, providing critical healthcare support and spreading much-needed awareness in the fight against the virus.
